Vallu works with documentary and autofiction, and their short films have often dealt with themes of intimacy, lust and consent. They have a special interest in dialogic and ethical filmmaking processes and DIY-inspired, collective practices. Vallu has also been teaching filmmaking for children and adults alike. They specialize in developing filmmaking methods for young people as well as community-based storytelling and shared feedback practices. They also hold a Masters’ Degree on Contemporary History from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Helsinki. At the moment, Vallu is working on their first feature length documentary.
